MONTAGUE PLACE, WORTHING
A flood risk assessment and sustainable drainage strategy was prepared to support a planning application to change the use of the existing 2nd floor, and to replace the existing upper floor with a new floor covering a larger footprint than present, in order to create 14 residential units

The site is located in the main shopping area of Worthing setback one road from the Promenade and at risk of coastal flooding when climate change is considered
The addition of a partial green roof and rainwater harvesting was deemed to be a sufficient level of SUDS, and the FRA demonstrated that although the ground floor entrance was at risk of flooding in the future, that flood resistant and resilient design and the operation of a flood management plan would ensure that the building could be occupied safely
